Installation - The HS44 fits pipe up to 1 inch/38mm outside diameter, and is fitted to the cold feed of the water-heating source. The red light should be bright indicating that the unit is working correctly.
Explanation of an ‘electrical loop’ or short circuit
If grounding cables are connected across the water lines as per diagram on the left, move the unit as per diagram on the right (this ensures the signal does not go around in a loop).
The diagram on the left is an electrical loop, the signal does not propagate correctly and is trapped in the loop. By moving the unit to a different location, out of the loop, the signal propagates throughout the system.
